The YDA Women's Caucus will be having a Happy Hour in support of Women's Equality Day here in Washington. Join some of Seattle's heavy hitter political women as we talk about women in politics over cocktails!

Young Democrats from around the Puget Sound area are invited to join YDWA in watching the nomination of our next President! We will watch the acceptance speech and hear from Young Democrats and others at the Convention.

For this event we will be heading to the 4th LD over in the Spokane to go out for Tim Hattenburg! Tim is a great candidate who ran in 2004 for the State Senate. He is a lifelong member of the 4th LD, Trustee for the Spokane County Library Board, and retired teacher.

When Tim interviewed with the YDWA Endorsements Board, he was not only knowledgeable about the issues, but obviously passionate about wanting to be able to represent the constituents of the district.

Author and CEO John Zogby, President of Zogby International, will be lecturing at the University of Washington on September 10th, 2008 in Kane Hall 110. The event is being hosted by the World Affairs Council and will be a great opportunity to hear from one of America's most prominent pollsters on his view of the new American Consensus. Zogby will also discuss his evidence of common factors that define an emerging generation of political and civil citizens.

September 12th and 13th the Washington State Democrats will be having their quarterly meeting at the Tulalip Casino! The Young Democrats will be joining in the fun as well.

We plan to have a series of brief training sessions concerning campaign activities and membership building as we start the final push to the election. This will be open to all Young Democrats leaders and soon to be leaders.
